i booked everything possible online and tripadvisor was my BFF (never lets me down...well there was that one time in Corfu but i'm over it)
anyway i will link all the sites here so you can get a head start:
Eiffel tower : http://www.tour-eiffel.fr/
tour montparnasse (this was narell's fav): http://www.tourmontparnasse56.com/
euro star: http://www.eurostar.com
speaking of the euro star, i must say i was far from impressed! its like the national rail and ryan air had a baby and that was the euro star. like seriously, the seats where old and tattered, there was no leg room AT ALL to the extent that me and the lady in front where past playing footsie but we were playing knee-sey FFS! and don't even get me started on the food. it was like an Aldi microwave meal mixed with cardboard drizzled with a little mold for extra kick. and it will only cost you a mere £8.90 for a sandwich and a half hearted cuppa. extortion? yes!
little did i know that that would be the least i'd have to pay for food as Paris is RIDICULOUSLY expensive, jesus! buddah! its like you have to be a millionaire to have a McChicken sandwich but if you must eat one thing your whole trip eat a crepe! with nutella! virgin? not after that your not! i believe the phrase is 'tots amaz-balls'
and another thing about Paris is that the people are SO nice! i was always told french people are arrogant and rude but no way! they are soo lovely (except one of the waiters we meet at a restaurant who completely ignored us after he thought we wouldn't tip him, obviously not with that sour face).
so me being me thought i'd practice my french on our last day. so as we we're lost near a football stadium somewhere i thought id ask for directions to the metro. looking awfully distressed i ran up to a man and said :
' bonjour monsieur metro si vu play'
check me btw!!
i think it means
hello sir, metro please...umm maybe? maybe not? yolo
so the man (naturally) started talking to me in french and silly me hadn't planned what i'd do after i got a response and so i looked at him in horror and he eventually gave up and said ingles? and i said wee!
so in the most ozzy accent every he said 'ahh mate, you should have said, its on you're left, ill take you there if you like mate'
i was relieved, but a part of me died inside knowing the only time i attempted french was to an Australian man who must of thought i was a right 'wally'
but hay ho!
overall, i had an amazing time. the food was good, the people where lovely and i will defo go again (when i'm a little richer and i have regained the dignity i lost on the way to the metro)
i'll leave ya'll with some pics:
